Steel and the Royal Foundry in Graveyard Keeper 2

Players report buying Steel from the Bishop after reaching the Royal Foundry. If you cannot reach it, a specific player answer places the Foundry behind the right Battle Point on the map and says to finish the Election Quest to open the next city section and more quests. This is a player-reported route, not a guaranteed unlock sequence for every save.

Where is the Royal Foundry?

  1. Check your quest log for the Election Quest. Scullhead's September 29, 2026 reply identifies finishing it as the way to open the next city part and more quests. If it is unfinished, follow its displayed objectives rather than assuming the map has no more progression.
  2. Look for the right Battle Point on the map. The same reply places the Foundry behind it. Follow the newly available battle route when your quest state allows it.
  3. Reach the Foundry and check the Bishop's trade inventory. Exia separately reports that Steel can be bought from the Bishop once you have reached the Royal Foundry.

These directions are based on Scullhead's Foundry-location answer and Exia's Steel purchase answer, both posted September 29, 2026. They do not establish exact battle names, coordinates, Steel prices, stock limits, or a home-smelting recipe.

No new battles, or Jack's Steel dialogue is missing?

The Foundry thread begins with a player who had no battles left visible. Replies recommend checking quest progression; Scullhead gives the more specific Election Quest direction. Use the current quest log as the next action, not a claim that raising Jack's friendship alone must unlock Steel. The cited purchase report supports checking the Bishop after reaching the Foundry; it does not verify every prerequisite for Jack's dialogue.

Do you need three Zombie Power items to buy Steel?

There are conflicting player reports. One September 30, 2026 reply says three Zombie Power items enable buying Steel. kornflakes89 says this is a separate quest; the original poster confirms that correction. Hykaro instead says Steel unlocks by opening the area through battle. Do not treat the three-item delivery as a guaranteed Steel unlock.

The practical next step is to check access to the Foundry and the Bishop's stock first. If your quest asks for Zombie Power, follow that quest's actual objective; this page does not equate that delivery with buying Steel or promise it will fix missing stock.

For the separate station input/output task, see the Bioreactor wheat and Zombie Power guide; its output name does not mean factory electricity.

What to check in your game

This is a purchasing and access guide, not an official Steel recipe database. The directions come from community reports; they have not been tested in the game by this site. Current-build quest order, localization, and merchant stock still need confirmation in your own save. We have no verified screenshot or exact map coordinates to show.

If writing is stopping your quest progress, see the Printed Poetry gold-story blocker and Gold Story mastery troubleshooting. For earlier materials, use where to find Iron.

Dated player evidence and conflicting reports

Tin from sand: Sluice Box and the bronze chain

The cached Sluice Box catalogue places it in the Yard, unlocked by Bronze Forge, with a construction bill of 4 Board + 4 Bronze Nails. Board is not Wooden Plank. The building record agrees on that construction bill; its later material entries are not additional construction costs. A precise footprint is not established by these sources.

The reviewed recipe webpage gives 3 Sand → 2–3 Tin; Golden nugget has a 40% chance with Gold Digger and is not guaranteed. Work fields are 5 ticks, 1 energy per tick, Smithing mastery 2, plus 1 red tech point, unlocked by Bronze Forge. The tech point is a crafting reward, not the unlock cost. The earlier flattened cache omitted the range and perk/probability condition; its fixed Tin-plus-gold reading is not complete evidence. Tin's internal item ID is lead; the player-facing name is Tin, not Lead. Field interpretation reviewed October 13, 2026, not independently reproduced in the game.

Tin then feeds Bronze Ingot production: the cached furnace recipe uses 3 Copper Nugget + 1 Tin + 20 Fuel → 4 Bronze Ingot. Check the current recipe and fuel display before queuing. Ticks are work units, not seconds, and energy per tick is not factory electrical draw; these fields do not prove a production rate. This is a bronze-material route, not a shortcut around the separate steel unlocks above. Tin also appears in the Tannin Liquid mixing route.
