Alchemy Guide for Graveyard Keeper 2
Inspect an item's description before spending Faith on alchemy research. Release-build players report that an eligible, unresearched material displays two Runes ??? lines; items without those rune fields have no alchemical properties. Research eligible materials to reveal their runes, then discover formulas through experiments or technology unlocks.
Alchemy discovery loop
- Inspect the item description. Look for two rune-property lines. Before research, eligible items are reported to display
Runes ???. - Skip items with no rune fields. Do not spend Faith expecting every ordinary item to become an alchemical ingredient.
- Research an eligible material. Use the available research interface and pay the cost shown in your current build to reveal its rune properties.
- Unlock the required station or formula technology. Use sequel UI names only; the first game's workstations and recipes are not assumed here.
- Experiment with researched ingredients. Players report that successful combinations can reveal formulas, while selected formulas—such as some battle potions—come from the technology tree.
If alchemy research does not work
Does the item show Runes ???
Inspect its description first. The cited launch-build discussion says items without rune-property fields do not have an alchemical property to reveal.
Does the research UI show a cost?
Use the cost and progress shown by your current interface. This page does not assume a universal Faith value or workstation tier.

Why this page does not publish a full recipe table
