Where to find Night Flower and Firefly in Graveyard Keeper 2
Look in the swamp at night for purple-glowing flowers. A September 28 player answer identifies these as Night Flower; separate September 26 replies recommend swamp flowers when looking for Fireflies for insect bait. Firefly drops are not guaranteed, and the sources disagree about whether these flowers can also be gathered during the day.
Night Flower: the practical gathering route
- Search the swamp, preferably at night. Rasjel's Night Flower reply says it glows purple there at night. This is an identifying cue, not a verified map coordinate.
- Inspect and gather the glowing flower. For Fireflies, Prometheus describes special swamp flowers lit by insects. Check the resulting inventory rather than assuming every pick gives the same drop.
- Keep the flower and insect tasks separate. Night Flower is discussed as an alchemy material; the Firefly thread is about gathering enough insects for bait. Getting a flower does not establish a fixed number of insects.
Can you gather Fireflies during the day?
Prometheus's September 26 answer says the special flowers can only be picked at night and often give a Firefly, but explicitly stops short of saying they always do. A later answer in the same thread says the stationary ones can also be gathered during daytime.
The timing is disputed. Night is the clearest shared search cue, not a proven mandatory harvesting window. If you find an interactable stationary flower during daytime, try it; if it is not interactable, return at night. We have not independently tested either timing claim or measured a drop rate.
Other reported Firefly sources
Another player reply mentions the Astrologist and occasional Rhododendron Bush drops. Treat these as secondary leads, not guaranteed stock or a verified farming loop: the answer does not specify prices, merchant unlocks, restock timing, or drop probability.
Fireflies for bait: gathering is not a full recipe
For Graveyard Keeper 2 bait, this guide covers the player-reported Firefly gathering lead, not a complete bait-crafting route. The cited replies do not establish a verified ingredient list, crafting station, or fishing yield. Finding an insect also does not establish zombie fishing automation.
Night Flower and blue runes
A September 28 answer lists Night Flower and Zombie Goo as sources of two blue runes. Check the material's rune display in your build before committing ingredients; material identification does not establish a complete potion formula.
Do not copy the suggested Night Flower + Seed Oil combination as a confirmed recipe. The original suggestion is followed by a reply saying the ingredients did not mix. See the alchemy and rune guide for how to distinguish material runes from recipe discovery.
What this guide does not establish
No exact swamp coordinates, respawn timer, drop percentage, fishing yield, or zombie fishing automation has been verified here. These are dated release-period player reports, not official instructions or directly tested gameplay. Do not import Graveyard Keeper 1 ingredient rules.
For worker questions, use the zombie worker guide. For another factory material, see the Graveyard Keeper 2 Zombie Power input/output guide.
