Graveyard Keeper 2 Dynamite and Alcohol

Launch-week player answers place Dynamite in the Anatomy and Alchemy technology branch — top row, just before Reanimation Liquid and above Crematorium 2 / Corpse Pallet 2. If you only need to open the mine, talk to Larry (the skull) in your house first: one quest reportedly hands you a free dynamite. The checks below cover the remaining recipe-visibility, ingredient, and blast-target problems.

GUIDE REVIEWED: SEPTEMBER 26, 2026EVIDENCE: CURRENT PLAYER REPORTSSTATUS: UNLOCK REPORTED — VERIFY IN YOUR BUILD

Where Dynamite unlocks

  1. Open the Anatomy and Alchemy branch. One player answer places Dynamite on the top row of that tree, just before Reanimation Liquid and above Crematorium 2 / Corpse Pallet 2.
  2. Ask Larry first if the mine is the target. Another reply reports one free dynamite from a Larry quest — talk to the skull in your house and tell him to help.
  3. If the node is missing, progress the quests. A third player reports the technology may not appear on the tree until the free-dynamite quest is done; treat that as a report to verify against your tree, not a rule.
  4. Explosion powder is a weaker lead. One player reports getting it from ingredient experiments with roughly two red and two blue components — a single, hedged memory. Check the live Alchemy UI before spending rare ingredients, and see the Alchemy research loop.

Reported blast-site problems

  • Lock-in-place at a mine entrance: one report describes the player becoming stuck after placing dynamite at a blocked iron-mine entrance. The reporter’s own edit says a same-day patch fixed it — update your game before blasting (Update 1.006 is the current patch at review time).
  • Freezing on blast: a separate report describes the game freezing when trying to blow the mine entrance. No official acknowledgment appears in the reviewed patch notes; if it recurs, reload an earlier save and report it.
  • Use Dynamite only at an explicit interaction. Do not discard, sell, or attempt unsupported placement with a quest item.

First identify which blocker you have

Dynamite objective

Confirm whether the quest wants Dynamite as an item, wants an obstruction cleared, or first expects another conversation. Similar wording can point to different steps.

Alcohol ingredient

Check whether “Alcohol” is an ingredient name in the current recipe or merely a category players use informally. Match the capitalization and icon shown in your UI.

Recipe absent

Check the reported Larry quest and the Anatomy and Alchemy branch before collecting speculative ingredients — one player reports the node appears only after that progression.

Recipe visible but blocked

Compare station, ingredient form, quantity, energy or other displayed requirement, and available output space.

If Alcohol is the missing part

Search the current technology tree and unlocked production stations for the exact item name shown by the Dynamite recipe or quest. If no matching operation appears, the unresolved step may be technology, research, formulation, or NPC progression rather than an ingredient-location problem.

When testing a reported route, record three observations: the station name, the exact visible input names, and whether the output preview shows Alcohol. Those observations confirm your build; a forum reply alone does not.

If Dynamite does not appear or work

  • Confirm the quest step has advanced after the preceding dialogue or construction.
  • Check whether the technology is unlocked but the correct station has not been built.
  • Move required components from specialized bags into accessible inventory if the UI does not count them.
  • Clear output space at the station.
  • At the target, look for a dedicated interaction rather than assuming free placement.
  • If the target remains inactive, leave the Dynamite intact and recheck the quest log before treating it as a bug.

Confirmed observation vs inference

Confirmed in your save: quest wording, visible technology, station name, displayed recipe, listed ingredients, and a target interaction. Inference: an ingredient location, recipe quantity, NPC schedule, or blast target copied from another version without matching UI evidence.

Evidence boundary: The technology-tree position, the free Larry dynamite, and the blast-site reports are player reports cited below, not official documentation. Exact recipe quantities, unlock costs, Alcohol production, and NPC schedules remain unverified in the reviewed sources.
