Graveyard Keeper 2 Assembly Bench Guide

If the Assembly Bench or its recipe is missing, check quest progression, technology, the correct build zone, construction requirements, and recipe prerequisites separately. Release-build player discussions can help identify where to look, but they are not an official workstation manual.

Unlock and build checklist

  1. Read the objective that sent you looking for the bench. Note whether it asks you to unlock, build, use, or collect something from the station.
  2. Inspect relevant technology branches. Look for the exact Assembly Bench label and any prerequisite nodes in your current tree.
  3. Check designated construction areas. A learned workstation may only appear in the build menu for an appropriate yard, basement, laboratory, or other work zone.
  4. Use the displayed material list. Similar components can have different processed forms; match both name and icon.
  5. Build the station with clearance. Leave enough access to interact and avoid blocking adjacent stations or chests.
  6. Open it after advancing the quest. If it is empty, recipe progression may still be incomplete even though construction is finished.

Bench exists, but the recipe does not

Quest gate

Return to the relevant NPC and exhaust current dialogue. Some objectives expose an operation only after the previous step is acknowledged.

Technology gate

Check connected nodes, not just whether the physical bench is available. Building a station does not prove every recipe is unlocked.

Research or formula gate

If the item uses runes, unknown ingredients, or a discovered formula, follow the Alchemy research loop rather than guessing a combination.

Inventory gate

Move test ingredients into accessible inventory and compare the recipe display. A specialized bag may affect what a quest or station recognizes.

Assembly Bench not working

  • Confirm you are interacting with the Assembly Bench, not the Formulation Bench, Writing Desk, or similarly placed station.
  • Read any mastery, energy, ingredient, tool, or quest requirement displayed by the current UI.
  • Check that station output has room and that no neighboring object blocks access.
  • Test one visible recipe with exact listed inputs before diagnosing the entire station.
  • If an operation fails, record what changed and what did not; do not claim a universal bug from one blocked quest state.

Blue Crystal boundary

Players searching for the Assembly Bench also search for Blue Crystal. The reviewed evidence does not establish an official, universal Blue Crystal acquisition route, recipe, consumption rule, or guaranteed relationship to every Assembly Bench objective.
