Flax in Graveyard Keeper 2

Flax currently shows a gardening requirement of 5 in player reports. If your base gardening is 4 and Green Thumb should raise your effective skill, red planting results may come from plot quality or fertilizer—but multiple players have also reported that the perk does not always apply as expected.

Flax planting checklist

  1. Check the displayed requirement. Current reports identify Flax as requiring 5 gardening.
  2. Compare your base skill and perk bonus. Players with 4 gardening plus Green Thumb expected to meet the requirement.
  3. Inspect plot quality and fertilizer. Community replies recommend checking both when red results still appear.
  4. Do not assume every failure is your setup. Separate bug reports describe Green Thumb not applying consistently.

Does Green Thumb work with Flax?

The community evidence is mixed. Some players report that the perk's +2 should bring their effective skill above Flax's requirement, yet they still receive occasional red results. Other replies point to plot quality and fertilizer. That means the safest conclusion is that both setup quality and a possible perk issue should be checked.

Unresolved at this check: Update 1.006 fixed one crop-bed state that could become permanently stuck immediately before harvest. It did not announce a Flax-specific Green Thumb fix, a general farming fix, or a zombie-farming fix. Keep those reports separate and re-test each setup after updating.

Flax, “flachs,” and zombie farming

Flachs is the German search term for flax, not evidence of a second crop. If a zombie is assigned to a Flax plot, first confirm that the same bed can be planted and harvested manually, then check seeds, displayed gardening requirement, worker assignment, pathing, and output room. That is a diagnostic checklist—not a verified claim that zombies bypass Flax’s gardening requirement or Green Thumb behavior.

For the worker side of the loop, use the release-build zombie hub. For the hive side of the garden route, see where the beehives are reported. No official source reviewed here publishes exact zombie-Flax timing, seed consumption, or mastery rules.

What is Flax used for?

Demo-era research discussions list Flax among the materials worth researching for formulation combinations. Launch-build recipes and exact output tables are not presented here until they can be verified separately.

Flax FAQ

Is “flachs” a different item?

No separate item is established by the evidence reviewed here. “Flachs” is the German word for flax and appears in multilingual searches for the same crop.

Does a red field prove the perk is broken?

No. Check plot quality and fertilizer first. Repeated failures with the requirements met may support the reported perk issue.

Is this a confirmed developer bug?

It is a player-reported issue in the official Steam bug-report forum. This page does not convert that report into an official diagnosis.
