Final Battle Not Starting in Graveyard Keeper 2
First separate your quest branch. If you kept the eye and are stuck at 90 friendship, players point to three late-game Inspirations and dream quests, with some saves reporting those perks missing. If you returned the eye and finished the villagers’ requests, count the stones actually slotted in: one exact thread was solved by placing two overlooked stones, not by changing the eye choice.
Match your symptoms before trying a fix
- Kept the eye; six friends remain at 90; final pair quests will not advance: start with the Inspiration and sleep checks.
- Returned the eye; final requests completed; guards have no battle option; only three stones slotted: compare the author-confirmed missing-stones case.
- No new Inspirations appear at all: that is a reported unresolved progression problem in the cached threads, not proof that waiting for more battle days will repair it.
If you kept the eye: check Inspirations, then dream quests
In “Stuck maybe, Endgame”, the original poster had kept the red eye, had the god in the attic, and had friends stuck at 90 with “Gluttony and pride,” “Lust and Envy,” and “Wrath and sloth” open. Waiting through several battle days had not resolved it.
- Inspect the bottom-right end of the Inspiration/perk tree again. A reply identifies three perks linked to the pairs of sins. The original poster then replies that this was what they had missed; they had stopped checking the tree after previously maxing it.
- If those perks are available, unlock them and sleep. The reply describes cutscenes that unlock the final quests. A later kept-eye player reports sleeping on Battle Day (blue icon) triggered the first step. That timing is a player-reported check, not an independently verified universal rule.
- Follow the dream’s pair quest. The later player describes watching the dream, talking to the Old God, visiting the pair, completing their quest, then sleeping again and repeating for the other pairs. Follow the actual objectives in your save rather than assuming all quests advance together.
If the three Inspirations are absent
The separate “red eye god quest” thread includes players who had kept the eye and built the attic but could not find the additional Inspirations. Others reported completing the game on that branch. These conflicting experiences do not support “keeping the eye always makes the game unbeatable.”
If the nodes are absent rather than simply unpurchased, capture the whole perk tree, attic dialogue and active objectives. The cached discussions do not establish a reliable workaround for that state, and they do not prove the same bug persists in your current patch. Do not assume the missing-stones solution below repairs absent Inspirations.
If you returned the eye: the exact solved missing-stones case
In “Final Battle not Starting no Further Quests? (Spoilers)”, Aviator Alligator had already returned the red eye, had the six villagers at 90, completed their final requests, rested, and seen the god visit. Only three stones had been slotted. There was no new map flag and no battle option from the guards, even when the player checked on Battle Day.
The accepted answer by brown29knight identified the missing steps as stones, not another eye hand-in. The reply describes five stones slotted before that battle, with the last one following the battle and cutscenes:
- Check stone #4 in the drained-water area. The answer describes it as the area where people in green moved in.
- After placing stone #4, check the base for stone #5. The answer says it is revealed after the fourth is placed.
- Then follow the revealed final-battle location. The reply describes stone #6 as revealed with that location, and the post-battle cutscenes leading to placement of the last stone.
Aviator Alligator explicitly confirms: “what you suggested was indeed the solution.” They had confused which stones were already placed and had not noticed a remaining-stones marker in the quest menu. This confirms the solution for that save’s reported missing-stones state, not every endgame blocker.
Read the accepted missing-stones reply and the original poster’s confirmation. Another reply asks about delivering Zombie Power to the Bishop; the poster says they had already done that. It was not the newly discovered solution in this case.
If your save does not match either case
Record the eye choice, friendship values, active pair quests, available Inspirations, stones actually placed, day icon and guard dialogue. Include platform and game version when submitting a bug report. A missing UI marker alone does not prove a save lock, but a community workaround is not a promise of recovery either.
